Cornwall - why Cornwall

Okay, when I we mentioned that our first night of this road trip would be in Cornwall, some of you said CORNWALL?  Why would anyone spend a night in Cornwall?  No offence to anyone from here.

Our plan for this trip is to travel no more than 4 hours per day according to Google Maps. Now on some days it will take us longer due to rest stops, picnics and getting out to take pictures of the many great sites we hope to see.  So 4 hours from Bowmanville is Cornwall.

Barb and I love being together on our own, we tease and talk and just enjoy our time together. We started our drive today with a stop at Coffee and Cakes in Bowmanville to get a couple of fresh bagels.

First stop was in Cobourg to take a look and see if their lovely beach has returned from the flooding earlier this year.

We made sure we took pictures of all of the important scenes along the 401. There are not many to Cornwall. Here is the Big Apple in Brighton.

Barb had one more opportunity for a nice shot and as soon as she got it while we were travelling at 110 km per hour, right away she said "tree". These little buggers keep jumping into our pictures. It happened more than you can imagine when we toured Europe.

 MARCELLO WHERE ARE YOU!
Okay when we were in Europe our bus driver was named Marcello and at every stop, he was outside the bus cleaning the windows.  All of them, just so when we took a picture, we had a clear picture.  Obviously I'm not quite as dedicated to this and this landed directly in Barb's view.

We have arrived at our lovely hotel for this evening, it is fancy and we have a very nice luxury suite tonight, after all this is our first night.  I know we got married on Saturday, but after all that drinking and partying which we loved, we got home and basically passed out.  Yesterday, Sunday was just a struggle to survive the "day after" so it was an early night last night.

We move on to Quebec City tomorrow and we'll post daily providing the internet connections allow.

Comments

  1. Just one comment (for today). Why are you wearing your Blue Jay shirt? Did you happen to catch the score of Sunday's game?????? Never mind....happy honeymoon!

  2. Can't start a trip without coffee and a bagel -- especially from Tim's . The hotel looked really quaint.
