Moncton... almost

We woke up a bit later this morning, after all we are on vacation.  We didn't even bother going for breakfast, and decided to stop in Fredericton on our way to Moncton.  It was another day of roads without much scenery.

We did take some photos in Fredericton, while stopping for lunch. Again not really much to see here, our apologies to the folks who live here.

After lunch we continue on to Moncton. Actually we are staying in a little bed and breakfast located in Lakeville, just outside of Moncton.  We haven't really seen Moncton at all.

The Wild Rose B&B looks really nice, complete with many chickens roaming around the back of the property.

We decided to visit Shediac tonight because it is on the coast and we are dying to see the ocean.  We had dinner there and our waitress suggested that we go to the wharf afterwards.

The wharf was perfect for us, nice scenery, bars and many people around.  Young folks and kids were jumping off of the pier into the water. Many boats around and everyone just walking around enjoying the evening.

After having a drink on the patio of one of the bars, we decided to sit by the edge of the wharf and watch the sunset.  It made for a nice relaxing change from sitting in the van and driving as much as we have these past 5 days,  Barb got some great photos.

Shediac is known as the lobster capital of the world. It was here that the largest lobster ever was caught, weighing 44.4 pounds according to the Guinness book of world records.   They have a giant lobster statue that we had to take a picture of.

We are now both back in our room, planning to visit Hopewell Rocks tomorrow and then we are looking for a beach to relax and enjoy a warm and sunny day.

  1. Looks so quaint and small townish --- and more peaceful and serene than the big cities. Barb certainly did capture some beautiful shots. Enjoy the day tomorrow
