Quebec City
So my French is not good, but I do try. We left Cornwall this morning, Barb made me clean the windshield and within 10 minutes we had more bug splatters on it.
So there really isn't much to see on the drive to Quebec City, but Barb liked the signs about deer and moose in the area and to watch out for them. We didn't see any actual animals, but lots of signs.
Believe it or not we have about 15 of these pictures, we think these ones above are the best. We are taking it easy on our drive so we found a rest stop to have a bit of food. Thankfully we have been loaned an electric cooler so we have cheese, crackers, cold meat and a few other things ready for what we are sure will be many stops along this trip.
So back to the French, while filling up the van with gas, Dave (me) goes in to pay and I think the lady is going to ask me for the pump number since it was pretty busy. Pump 7 (sept) okay I'm ready. The cost was $55.00. The lady says to me cinquante-cinq. What was that I think to myself trying to figure this out. Finally it hits me ... 55! Too late, after looking at my blank face she says pump 7? My response was Si. No no no that is Spanish dummy. I need more practise.
This evening we took a ferry from Levis (pronounced Leevie) to Quebec city to explore the old city. What a beautiful city, little cobblestone roads and great buildings lit up at night.
We had dinner in the old city, a bit expensive but nice. We are back touring Quebec city tomorrow.
