The Cabot Trail - Cheticamp

We woke yesterday morning, had breakfast, packed up and headed out to the Cabot Trail.  First stop however was to the Alexander Graham Bell exhibit here in Baddeck. We learned so much about Bell and his family, who many still come here to their summer homes.

Everyone we have heard from all said that he was a very generous man who treated everyone so kindly.  Not only the inventor of the telephone, but also had many other inventions, one of which was being involved in the first ever air flight in the British Empire on a plane called the Silver Dart.  We have seen the full size replica of this plane and found out that the flight took place here in Baddeck on the frozen Bras D'or lake on February 23rd, 1909.

Next, we travelled to the coast along the Cabot Trail.  We found a beach in Inverness which we stopped to walk along for a bit.  As was our plan, it has been an easy, relaxing day.

For the night, we have a cabin overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence, watching fishing boats come and go, sipping on some beverages and waiting for the sunset.

Today our journey continues along the Cabot Trail to Sydney, Nova Scotia. Hopefully the internet will be a little better there.

P.S. we want to wish a very happy birthday to one of our closest friends and most loyal followers of this blog,  Happy Birthday Bruce!!
